Sealed self-aligning roller bearing is a commonly used rolling bearing, mainly composed of inner and outer rings, rollers, cage, and seals. It has the characteristics of large load capacity, low rotational friction, long service life, and easy installation and maintenance. The following is the usage method of sealed self-aligning roller bearings:

1、 Preparation before installation

Check bearings: Before installation, the model, specifications, and fitting dimensions of the bearings should be checked to ensure they meet the design requirements, and the appearance of the bearings should be checked for any damage or defects.

Cleaning the shaft and bearing seat: Ensure that the surface of the shaft and bearing seat is clean, free of oil and impurities, to avoid affecting the installation and operation of the bearing.

Apply lubricant: Apply an appropriate amount of lubricant on the inner and outer rings of the bearing to reduce friction and wear.

2、 Installation method

Heating installation:

Heat the bearing to 80-100 ℃ using methods such as heating oil tanks, ovens, or tempering furnaces, and maintain it for a period of time (such as 30 minutes) to appropriately increase the clearance between the bearing and the shaft or bearing seat for installation.

During the heating process, attention should be paid to controlling the oil temperature to avoid exceeding 120 ℃, in order to prevent bearing damage.

After heating, quickly remove the bearing, wear insulated gloves, and directly sleeve the bearing onto the shaft or install it on the bearing seat.

Press fit method:

For bearings with larger dimensions or tighter fit, press fit tools can be used to press the bearings into the shaft or bearing seat.

During the pressing process, attention should be paid to controlling the pressing force to avoid damaging the bearings or shafts.

Installation of tightening sleeve or retraction sleeve:

For tapered bore self-aligning roller bearings, a tightening sleeve or a retraction sleeve can be used for installation.

First, install the tightening sleeve or retraction sleeve on the shaft, then install the bearing on the tightening sleeve or retraction sleeve and fix it with a locking nut or hydraulic nut.

3、 Inspection and adjustment after installation

Check installation position: Ensure that the bearing is correctly installed on the shaft and bearing seat, and that the position meets the requirements.

Measure clearance: Use specialized tools to measure the radial clearance and axial clearance of the bearing, ensuring that the clearance is within the specified range.

Lock nut: For bearings fixed with lock nuts, ensure that the lock nut is tightened and securely locked.

Apply lubricating oil: Apply an appropriate amount of lubricating oil on the bearing to reduce friction and wear, and protect the bearing from corrosion.

Dust prevention measures: Cover the bearings with plastic film or other materials to prevent dust and debris from entering the interior of the bearings.

4、 Precautions for use

Avoid overload operation: Ensure that the bearings operate within the specified load range and avoid bearing damage caused by overload operation.

Regular lubrication: Regularly add lubricant to the bearings to maintain good lubrication.

Regular inspection: Regularly check the operating status and wear of bearings, and replace or repair them in a timely manner if any abnormalities are found.

Avoid high temperature and humid environments: Try to avoid running bearings in high temperature and humid environments to extend their service life.

By following the above steps and precautions, the correct use and long-term stable operation of sealed self-aligning roller bearings can be ensured.
